The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi (India), organized a two-day International Conference on Thermo-Fluids and System Design (ICTFSD 2022) from 22-23 March 2022. The multidisciplinary conference served as a platform to exchange innovative ideas and experiences with participants from around the globe. The eminent experts from the top universities delivered (keynote) lectures covering the broader scope that would benefit the participants from academics, industry (including R&D), and scientists from various organizations. ICTFSD 2022 covered a wide spectrum related to fluid flow, heat transfer, materials engineering, mechanical design, and process optimization in science and engineering.
The conference patron was Prof. Indranil Manna, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, BIT Mesra. The Guest of Honour was Prof. Sarit Kumar Das (Institute Chair Professor, Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras), and the Chief Guest was Dr. Sanak Mishra, Former President, Indian National Academy of Engineering, and the Indian Institute of Medals.
There were 4 keynote lectures covering the different areas of the conference: Prof. Brian Norton (Tyndall National Institute, Ireland) spoke on Thermal Management of Photovoltaics, Prof. Srinath Ekkad (North Carolina State University, USA) discussed The Key Role of Heat Transfer Analysis in Energy Systems Research, Prof. Prabal Talukdar (IIT Delhi, India) delivered a lecture on Modelling of Heat and Mass Transfer: Fire-Clothing - Skin, and Prof. Ashoke De (IIT Kanpur, India) presented talks on Viscous interaction between shock waves and separation region in hypersonic flow over a corner.
